The 2015 On Deck Conference will open with a special keynote interview of Milwaukee Bucks Co-Owner Wes Edens on the lessons he has learned in the 19 months since he purchased the franchise.
Since Edens purchased the team in April 2014, both the Bucks and NBA have seen major changes, particularly when it comes to technology. The Bucks recently went through a rebranding and have a new arena on the horizon, while the NBA has made advanced statistics more open to the public, allowing anyone to go to the league’s website and track a player’s exact movements on a given play.
In addition to his involvement with the Bucks, Edens is a Principal, Founder and Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fortress Investment Group, an asset management company. In his role at Fortress, Edens focuses on the private equity arm of the business.
Edens will sit down with Wall Street Journal sports reporter Ben Cohen for a 1-on-1 interview. Discussion topics will include player tracking, virtual reality, in-venue technology, running a professional sports franchise, and how tech can impact player injuries and recovery.
